The proposed reclamation at Tuas Finger One is the first of the four ‘fingers’ of the new Tuas Mega Port. Finger One is creating approximately 3.5km of wharf structure using concrete caissons.
The reclamation area is 165 ha with 3.6 km caisson quay wall. Caissons refer to large concrete structures used for the foundation in underwater work. A caisson, 28 meters long, 40 meters wide and 30 meters high, weighs as much as 18,000 tons.
Due to a high standard of handover requirements, we managed to complete the project well and was able to meet our client's high expectations.
There were many record breaking milestones for Halex in this mega project
